Supreme Court upholds Romulo Neri petition on executive privilege.
In a vote of 9-6, the Supreme Court has granted the petition of CHED Chairman Romulo Neri and held that Neri cannot be compelled to answer three questions posed by Senators in the ongoing investigation of the NBN-ZTE deal due to executive privilege. In the same decision, the Supreme Court also ruled that the three Senate committees committed grave abuse of discretion in issuing the contempt order against Neri and thus, the orders for contempt and arrest issued against Neri were nullified.
